From April 7 to 11, the School on Non-equilibrium Statistical Physics will be held, and the Institute of Complex Systems (UBICS) sponsors it. It is a series of conferences on the topics of classical and quantum statistical physics by five prestigious lecturers in the field: Andrea Crisanti (Sapienza Università, Rome), Leticia Cugliandolo (Sorbonne Université, Paris), Jorge Kurchan (École Normale Supérieure, Paris), Luca Peliti (Università Federico II, Naples), Angelo Vulpiani (Sapienza Università, Rome).
The aim of the school is to provide students advanced knowledge on selected topics of classical and quantum non-equilibrium statistical physics. Lectures will progressively go from the basics to current research topics, and a one-day mini-workshop will take place on Wednesday 7 April, a chance for members of our local community to present their current activities, with the aim of fostering discussions and boost current research.
The conferences will be held at the Facultat de Física of the University of Barcelona and are organized by Demian Levis, member of the UBICS and professor at the University of Barcelona, together with Carles Calero and Fèlix Ritort, from the Department of Condensed Matter Physics.
It is a free activity open to everyone and is addressed mainly to advanced undergraduate, master’s and PhD students, postdocs, professors, and everyone interested in learning about this fascinating topic.
