Beyond 11F, International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and on the occasion of 8M, International Women’s Day, it is important to vindicate the contribution and role of women in the field of research

From this starting point and with this commitment, members of the Institute of Complex Systems of the University of Barcelona (UBICS) are organizing the fourth edition of the lab tour ‘Recerca en femení’ on Tuesday, March 10.
The main objective of this initiative is to make known —firsthand and on the ground— the research of female doctoral students and researchers of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Barcelona. In this way, the aim is to highlight the work they carry out by taking an educational tour of the laboratories and offices where they work. In addition, it is also a space for the exchange of experiences where female doctoral students and researchers will briefly share the essential points of their research projects.
The doctoral students who have launched the fourth edition of this Lab Tour are: Chloé Padois (Exoplanets), Mireia Olives Verger (Dinàmica i criticalitat en cultius neuronals), Beatriz Vargas Carosi (Microscopia Electrònica), Laia Montellà (Primordial Black Holes), Amanda Green-Salinas (Quantum Gravity & Black Holes), Vanessa Costa (Microscopia Electrònica), Judith Ardèvol Guillamón (Estructura Galàctica), Sandra Tomás Valls (Quantum Telecommunications), Laura Ramió Matas (Processant de senyal), Adriana Nadal Matosas (Cosmologia Observacional), Anna Castellví i Picanyol (Magnetisme: imatges d’ones magnètiques).
The visits begin at 2 pm and will take place in room 3.20 of the Faculty of Physics (c/ de Martí i Franquès, 1-11, Pau Gargallo entrance). The tour lasts approximately 30 minutes, after which a light snack will be offered to the attendees, providing a new chance to share experiences and reflections on the doctorate and the research work.
Students of Physics are welcome to join this activity; all you have to do is scan the QR code on the poster to sign up. Participate!
