Tribute to Professor Francesc Sagués on his 70th birthday

On April 22 and 23, a tribute event will be held in honor of Professor Francesc Sagués on the occasion of his 70th birthday at the Aula Magna Enric Casassas of the Facultat de Química at the Universitat de Barcelona. This initiative is promoted by professors and members of UBICS, M. Ángeles Serrano and Pietro Tierno, together with professors Jordi Ignes (IN²UB) and Ramon Reigada (IQTC). Under the title From Nonlinear Physics to Active Soft Matter, Celebrating the 70th Birthday of Francesc Sagués, the event is sponsored by UBICS and is free for students and researchers. Registration is mandatory through the form available at this link.

The goal of this meeting is to bring together researchers and students from various fields of soft matter, statistical physics, and biophysics to share knowledge and passion for science, to honor Prof. Francesc Sagués’s contributions to these disciplines, and to celebrate his 70th birthday.

For the occasion, the event will feature lectures by the following professors: Javier Buceta (Institute for Integrative Systems Biology, Spain), Alberto Fernández Nieves (UBICS, Universitat de Barcelona, Spain), Jean François Joanny (Le Collège de France, France), Jordi Garcia-Ojalvo (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain), Patrick Oswald (École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, France), Ignacio Pagonabarraga (UBICS, Universitat de Barcelona, Spain), Maxi San Miguel (Universitat de les Illes Balears, Spain), Igor Sokolov (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany), and Julia Yeomans (University of Oxford, UK).
